Mandarin Celebrates The Year of the Rooster.

The Year of rooster 雞年 is coming soon! All of the Serendipity School student in the Mandarin program are learning about this very important Spring Festival 春節 in Chinese culture. They have listened to the fun story of how the twelve zodiac animals were first been selected and how they represent and measure each year. They have also learned a song that helps them memorize the twelve animals of the Zodiac in correct order!

We’re also celebrating the New Year in class. We are having so much fun making rooster card bookmarks (or a wood stick toy), and paper art of 春 (spring) and 小雞 (little chick) for decoration. We also had a party where we ate the most popular New Year food 餃子 (dumpling) as well as bite-size sweet snacks.

Please enjoy pictures of our celebration.

Happy New Year!
