serendipity: n. the gift of discovering valuable or pleasant things that are not anticipated
Individuality
celebrated, seen, & respected
The path to self-discovery is never a straight line. The early childhood and elementary years represent the critical window of time for early identity formation. All individuals who interact with our youth during this time present critical models of the limitless potential of their future. Therefore, at Serendipity, we do not take for granted our role in creating the right environment within which each student will uncover their interests, talents, motivations, and passions. We believe in looking inward to find one’s individuality. Students are encouraged to embrace their authentic selves, gain confidence, and dare to be bold.
Discovery
challenged, empowered, & supported
Discovery permeates all aspects of our work at Serendipity. We provide intellectual freedom for students to flex their creative muscles, to develop ideas or concepts that capture their curiosity, and to tackle problems do not have an immediate or obvious outcome. By prioritizing a learning environment of discovery, we put learning in the hands of each student and challenge their engagement with learning on a personalized level.
Community
invited, welcomed, & embraced
Belonging isn’t just a happy accident. Strong communities have one thing in common: a sense of purpose. Strong cultures help people support one another, share their passions, and achieve big goals. Each member strives to understand their role within the community and how they contribute to the community’s culture and sense of purpose.. Together, we value the contributions of each member while elevating the group’s goals above the individual. In turn, we invest in community and culture because we believe in a greater call to serve each other and serve our world.
