A Week of Seasonal Celebration at Serendipity School

This past week was filled with imagination, creativity, and community spirit as our preschool and elementary campuses celebrated the magic of the fall season with a series of joyful events.

Preschool Trunk-or-Treat

Our preschoolers had a spooktacular time at the annual Trunk-or-Treat last Friday evening! Families transformed their car trunks into festive, themed displays—complete with games, treats, and plenty of Halloween magic. The parking lot buzzed with excitement as children went from car to car, collecting goodies, playing games, and showing off their costumes. With popcorn, pizza, laughter, and fun, it was the perfect blend of community connection, creativity, and childhood joy.

After School Performing Arts Club Presents It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

Families gathered for a delightful performance by our After School Performing Arts Club, who presented It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. The production featured beautiful songs, spirited dancing, and imaginative student-made sets, capturing the nostalgia and wonder of childhood at Halloween. The show reminded us all of the simple joys of friendship, imagination, and believing in a little magic.

Elementary Halloween Parade and Performances

Halloween Day brought the community together once again for our annual costume parade and performance at the elementary campus. The show opened with an energetic fifth grade dance to “This is Halloween” from The Nightmare Before Christmas, setting the stage for an afternoon full of festive fun.

Our kindergartners made their on-stage debut with an adorable performance of Little Pumpkin, complete with cheerful hand movements. First Graders followed with a lively musical number, playing xylophones, rhythm sticks, and tambourines to There Once Was a Witch. Second and Third Graders surprised the audience with a thrilling Thriller flash mob that had everyone cheering! Finally, our Fourth Grade thespians presented two seasonal plays—Harvest Festival (inspired by Moon Rabbit by Eva Wong Nava) and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow—showcasing their growing confidence and creativity on stage.

Following the performances, families joined in classroom celebrations with games, activities, and special treats. Guests also enjoyed visiting our beautiful Día de los Muertos exhibit, honoring loved ones who have passed and highlighting the students’ meaningful study of this cultural tradition.

Gratitude and Community Spirit

We are so grateful to our students, families, faculty, and staff for helping make these celebrations so special. From dancing and decorating to storytelling and sharing traditions, it was heartwarming to see our community come together—embracing creativity, connection, and the joyful magic of discovery that defines Serendipity.
