Every child brings their own strengths, interests, perspectives, questions, and ways of learning and experiencing the world. At Serendipity, we take the time to know each learner deeply and create space for children to develop as themselves. 

Caring, trusting relationships enable educators to notice what sparks a child's curiosity, where they are ready to stretch, and what support will help them to grow. Children learn to recognize their own strengths, advocate for what they need, take thoughtful risks, and become increasingly confident and self-aware.

Learning at Serendipity is active, purposeful, and connected. Children investigate questions, experiment with ideas, create, solve problems, collaborate, revise their thinking, and connect what they learn across experiences.

Discovery can begin with a question, a story, an observation, a problem to solve, or something unexpected. Children have time and space to follow their curiosity, explore ideas in different ways, and make connections between their learning and the world around them.

Through discovery, children develop confidence in their own capacity to learn. They experience what happens when they follow a question, try an idea, persist through uncertainty, and find a way forward. Over time, "I wonder" becomes "I can."

At Serendipity, community begins with acceptance. Children experience a place where they can be fully themselves, where differences are valued, and where they learn to extend that same openness and respect to others.

Being a part of a community also means recognizing that each of us has something to contribute. Children discover that their ideas, choices, words, and actions have an impact on the people and the world around them. They learn to listen, communicate, navigate difference and disagreement, care for others and themselves, and take responsibility for the role they play in their community.
